Fort Myers offers year-round access to the Gulf and inland waterways, making it a favorite home base for boating enthusiasts. But when your boat isn’t in use, it needs more than a driveway or open lot. Exposure to Florida’s heat, humidity, and storms can wear down your vessel’s finish and systems faster than expected. RecNation’s secure boat storage solutions in Fort Myers offer protection from the elements, plus privacy, flexible access, and reliable security.

Why Choose RecNation for Boat Storage in Fort Myers, FL

  • State-of-the-art security: Fully fenced sites with keypad access and 24/7 video surveillance.
  • Easy access: 24-hour gate access available upon request for convenient drop-offs and pickups.
  • Mobile-friendly: Use the RecNation app to manage gate access, billing, and reservations.
  • Flexible leasing: Month-to-month contracts give you the freedom to store seasonally or year-round without long commitments.
  • Variety of storage types: Choose from indoor, covered, or outdoor spaces to match your boat size, budget, and protection needs.

Benefits of Secure Boat Storage Near Fort Myers, FL

Secure boat storage in Fort Myers offers more protection than leaving your vessel in an unsecured lot or docked in a boat slip. From reducing the impact of weather to adding layers of security, the right storage choice helps preserve your boat’s condition and keeps it ready for the water. Here are the main storage types and their benefits:

Covered Boat Storage in Fort Myers, FL

Covered boat storage offers overhead shelter that helps protect against rain, UV rays, and falling debris while still allowing natural airflow. This option balances affordability with reliable protection, making it a practical choice for owners who want reduced exposure without the higher cost of enclosed storage.

Indoor Boat Storage in Fort Myers, FL

Indoor boat storage delivers the highest level of defense. With Fort Myers experiencing over 270 days of sun per year, enclosed units shield vessels from prolonged UV exposure, extreme heat, and humidity that can damage gel coats, seals, and upholstery. Keeping your boat fully enclosed also reduces the need for cleaning and detailing while adding another layer of security by keeping it out of sight.

Outdoor Boat Storage in Fort Myers, FL

Outdoor parking remains the most affordable boat storage option in Fort Myers, giving boaters easy access for frequent outings. Although vessels stay exposed to Florida’s climate, this type of storage is well-suited for those who prioritize convenience, especially when making regular trips to nearby waterways.

Security Features at RecNation

Florida ranks first in the nation for boat thefts, making secure storage an essential investment. At our nearby facilities, boat owners can expect:
  • Gated entry for controlled facility access
  • Keypad-controlled access that restricts entry to authorized users
  • Perimeter fencing that protects the property
  • 24/7 video monitoring to keep watch year-round

Choosing the Right Storage Option

The best storage choice depends on your boating habits and budget. Indoor storage provides maximum preservation and security at a higher cost, covered storage offers mid-range shelter with moderate pricing, and outdoor storage keeps costs low while prioritizing convenience.

RecNation’s Indoor Boat Storage Facilities Near Fort Myers, FL

  • About 12 miles away, our 14600 Jetport Loop location, near Southwest Florida International Airport, provides indoor units along with covered parking.

Boat Storage Prices

The cost of boat storage in Fort Myers varies depending on the facility location, unit size, on-site amenities, and type of protection you choose. For example:
  • A 15′ x 45′ indoor boat storage unit at our 3151 Old Metro Parkway facility starts at $731 per month.
  • A 12′ x 45′ covered boat storage space at the same location starts at $324 per month.
  • An 11′ x 48′ outdoor boat parking space at our 8930 Laredo Avenue facility starts at $197 per month.

How We Compare

Each location is fully fenced, equipped with keypad entry, and monitored by 24/7 security cameras to help safeguard your investment. Flexibility is built into every lease. Month-to-month rentals allow boat owners to store during the offseason or all year long without long-term commitments. 24-hour gate access is also available upon request, making it easy to pick up your boat for an early launch or return it after a late evening on the water. Our mobile app enhances the storage experience by putting control at your fingertips.
